After searching for about two months, visiting 9 preschools/day care in 4S/Rancho Bernado area, I decided to send my 3 years son to MICA for three reasons:
1. The environment is nice, warm and clean.
2. The bilingual environment. As the 1st generation immigrate, I hope my son can speak/write Chinese well and know his parents' motherland well. MICA can provide the mandarin and English environment, even the Spanish classes. I am very happy to see my son can learn the different languages at school.
3. The low teachers/student ratio. Since my boy is shy and sensitive, I do hope he can get enough attention at school and this is the most important criteria for me to search the school. MICA's teachers are all nice and sweat, they give my son plenty of care and especially Dr. Chi, she even help me take care my son when I stay at hospital overnight.
And besides the three reasons above, MICA's Montessori teaching methods fits my son well. He builds up his confidence and gains knowledge at school. He often surprises me at home for the new skills. He is happy every day and I am happy that I choose MICA.

My daughter started to go to MICA when she was 1 year and half. Before that, she stayed home with immediately family member. We thought the transition to MICA full time would be very difficult. Amazingly, it took only a few days for her from crying when dropped off to looking forward to going to the daycare. Now every morning she grabs her shoes and rushes us to take her to her teachers at MICA.All teachers at MICA are truly warm and kind hearted people, they are so patience, caring, and loving. On top of that, they are also very knowledgeable and provide effective and informative education to the kids. They combine the education and play perfectly and I can just tell how much my daughter loves being there and see her grow and learn. As a parent, I feel so good that I can drop off my child every morning with a smile knowing that she would have a great time at MICA learning and playing, and in such a safe environment. I can truly say that MICA is the place I completely trust and recommend to anyone. Words can't impress how grateful I am for all the wonderful teachers at MICA. You won't regret your choice, and your children will thank you!

MICA has been the biggest blessing to our family. Our older son has been part of MICA for 3 years is about to graduate to Kindergarten and our younger son just started the primary program, after completing the toddler program. I cannot say enough about how thankful we have been for this school. Both our kids started with the toddler program and from the beginning, MICA offered such a warm and welcoming environment. Our children LOVED their teachers (Ms. Angel/Ms. Flor). They are so kind, patient and genuinely care about each of the kids. Each day, my kids had stimulating Montessori lessons in a Chinese immersion setting, learned bible stories/concepts and also had nutritious meals/snacks. Once my children entered the primary program, they were able to continue and advance in their education. My older son came to this school barely speaking Chinese and can now speak fluently with his grandpa. He will also be entering Kindergarten advanced in his reading and math skills. The lead primary teacher, Mr. Terrence, does a fantastic job catering to each child's educational needs and communicating that to the parents. Our kids LOVE learning from him and come everyday reporting the fun activities they did. Not only that, but both the toddler and primary program place great importance on developing our children's character. Just the other month, they did lessons on the fruit of the spirit and my kids came home talking to me about that. One major highlight has also been how careful both programs have been in accommodating food allergies for my older son. He has some severe food allergies and they have made it so that he can even eat the school lunch safely. Lastly, the director (Ms. Chi) has personally been SO kind and helpful to our family. She sincerely cares about each of the students and their families, and has gone above and beyond in helping to address any of our concerns/needs. This school is such a treasure. I really wish they had an entire elementary program so we could continue attending. Thank MICA for how you have cared for my children!

Our son and us were so fortunate and blessed to be referred to Dr. Chi and the MICA Toddler Program when we were new to San Diego and in search of a caring, safe, and nurturing in-home daycare/preschool. Looking back at the past year, we could not have asked for a better program and set of teachers for our toddler son. MICA is not simply a daycare where you drop off your child and have him or her be babysat while you go to work. It is much more than that. Between the teachers Ms. Angel, Ms. Flor, and director/teacher Dr. Chi, our son is surrounded with love and genuine interest by the teachers when it comes to each child's physical, mental, and spiritual development. Our son looks forward to going to school, and it has been a joy seeing him come home each day and show off his newly learned vocabulary (English, Chinese, and Spanish!), songs, and skills (e.g., building blocks, matching shapes, naming animals). We also love that the kids are taught valuable life lessons such as how to treat others, and that even at this young age the foundation of spiritual formation is provided (e.g., through Bible stories and prayers before meals).
It was also a wonderful surprise to learn that the teachers share photos of the kids with the parents each day, so you can follow along with their activities. Also, MICA's lunch and snacks provide a wide variety of healthy and yummy food for the kids. This has been especially beneficial as our son is a picky eater. We often see the photos and description of the food and wish we could take some home for ourselves to eat!
Would we highly recommend MICA to other family and friends? Absolutely YES. We are already planning to enroll our baby as soon as he is old enough to join.

Our son Luke and daughter Lydian has been with MICA for almost 4 years, Luke attended MICA Primary since he was 3 yr and Lydian attended MICA Preschool since she was 1 and half. This is a blessed place for kiddos to grow up and learn. It is a place like family, warm and nice. Mrs. Chi, as the principle, implemented the Montessori Method to children’s learning and living in every day life, there is not only academic emphasis, but also real life experience. Small kids learned to play together, do simple chores by themselves such as wearing cloths, put on buttons, put on sun screen and make tables, through the daily life skill they also learned good manners while play with each other. Ms. Angle as the teacher in MICA, is a loving and caring teacher who take care of all the kids’ needs, she has a golden heart. Mrs. Flour is also very kind and loving in her heart. She is working hard to support her family and bring lots of love to kids in MICA. Mr. Terrence as the teacher in MICA Primary class, is a very responsible, loving and caring person. We felt so grateful to be able to put Luke in his class for these years. Even in the miserable time of Covid-19, he was react fast and put on lots of effort to ensure the class was safe as well as helping with families who still needs to keep kids in class. As well as other assistant teachers, they are all awesome teachers! We feel lucky to know MICA family and all the teachers through these years! Definitely highly recommend to send your kids here, you won’t regret!

MICA is amazing! MICA’s not just a day care which baby-sits your kid, but it’s a place that provides care, love and guidance for kids. One thing that MICA did and that eased a lot of my concern when my kids first join MICA: Miss Angel came to my house and spent time with my kid, which definitely is a game changer as my little one had already known who her/his teacher is. Miss Angel is a patient and caring teacher. She is an accountable teacher whom you can trust. She would discuss with me right away if she observed anything about my kid that needs my attention. I sent all my 3 kids to MICA and they all learned how to be a caring and loving person, how to work as a team and serve each other within the MICA family. All these years, I feel like MICA and my family are a big family (not just teachers and kids’ parents). Even my kids are now graduated from MICA, we still maintain close relationship with teachers from MICA.

My son Noah has been going to MICA since he was 2.5 years old and enjoys everyday there. So when we heard that MICA is opening the infant program, we registered our newborn immediately. Kristen joined the MICA infant program full-time when she was 9 months old. She is always excited to go to school and even reluctant to go home sometimes. Ms. Flor and Ms. Jessica truly cares and loves my children. The place is always spotless, and they even maintained a higher standard since pandemic. I was really surprised that my daughter never got sick from school, which I believe was really common for most daycare, and that shows how clean the classroom is. Ms. Flor and Ms. Jessica also provide nutritious and fresh breakfast, lunch and snacks, and are always willing to help when we’re in need. It is also a plus that the school is bilingual, so Kristen is able to learn both Mandarin and English in school naturally. Overall, we feel extremely blessed to have MICA as her first school and just can’t recommend this place enough.

We are truly grateful for MICA. My Son, Elliot, has been enrolled in MICA toddler class for more than 2 years, and he really enjoys the class, environment, teachers and friends there! We love MICA so much that our daughter will soon to be joining next year while our son will be heading into MICA Primary! The BEST PART about MICA is definitely all the teachers! They are a big part of making MICA a loving and orderly place, and a huge blessing for impacting the children’s life and growth in the early stage of their lives. Our son, Elliot, spent most of his time with Ms Angel, Ms Flor and Dr Chihua during his time in MICA. As the head teacher of MICA Toddler, Ms. Angel pays close attention to the need, behavior, gifts and interest of all the little ones. As parents, being able to openly communicate with the teachers is super. We also learned a lot from how the teachers instruct the children in ways we can also apply at home to help our kids grow in different aspects. Ms Angel definitely did a great job with that! Dr. Chihua, as the principal, is always on top of everything! She has taken good care of not only the children, the parents, but also the teachers! We especially appreciate how Dr. Chihua always make sure to keep the environment safe and healthy by applying all the safety and health protocols especially during the time of Covid. Dr Chihua always go extra mile to meet with every family’s need. We are truly grateful for Dr. Chihua’s humble service providing this program. Ms. Flor, is always kind and gentle, who also have children with similar ages, knows exactly how to encourage these toddlers. Elliot wasn’t a good eater, but ever since Ms.Flor adopted the “try one” rule from one of the books she read with the children, Elliot is willing to always try anything new or he initially thought he wouldn’t like. Ms. Flor speaks English with the children and also teaches them Spanish, which makes the learning environment trilingual! There are also other part time helpers, and we appreciate every single one of them for preparing and guiding our young ones with academically learning, real life experiences, nutritious meals while enjoying life that God has blessed them with. Toddlers growing in MICA are happy, well encouraged, and know to respect and encourage others as well.

Moreover, every day, school sent me short messages about how my son did in school including how long for his nap, how many diapers had been changed, and how much he ate for lunch and snacks. Now, my son has developed as an independent little man. He can now follow instructions, clean up after himself, and even tries to help me with some chores around the home. All the above changes will not happen without MICA’s help. Moreover, the school taught Mandarin, English and Spanish. I was so surprised that my son could speak some different fruits in Spanish at home. I appreciate MICA not only offering such child-friendly facilities , but also an active learning , warm and comforting environment.
