Dr. Chi (Founder and Director of Infant&Toddler Programs)
Dr. Chi earned her doctoral degree in Environmental Engineering from Purdue University in 2005. She is passionate about making the earth a better place to live. After working as a research fellow, consultant as well as a R&D director, Dr. Chi realized that the key to a better world is to engage the awareness of environment-care in young children. She was dreamed to dedicate her life working towards Early Childhood Education within Christian spiritual environment. God amazingly led her to Montessori education (AMI) in 2011 and she also obtained her Master of Education from Loyola University in 2014.
Seeing a huge benefit for children to speak several languages, Dr. Chi decided to open MICA which stands for Montessori International Christian Academy in 2013. Currently this Montessori school offers a Chinese/English immersion program within Christian environment which is the first of its kind in San Diego.
MICA is a loving learning environment and it keeps low teacher-student ratio of 1:6 so every child has the ability to reach their potential. She is opening her arms to welcome your child to join this unique school and can not wait to begin his/her learning journey with joy and peace.
"The land is where our roots are. The children must be taught to feel and live in harmony with Earth" - Dr. Maria Montessori.

Mr. Terrence (Head Teacher and Director of Primary Program)
Mr. Terrence earned his bachelor degree in Business from UC Berkeley in 2009. He then worked with different San Diego school districts and private schools for their outsourced education programs. God opened his eyes, and enabled him to see how quality education effected positive changes to a student’s whole person growth. As his passion for education was kindled, Mr. Terrence received his Association Montessori Internationale(AMI) certified training in 2015, and earned his master degree of Education later.
Mr. Terrence loves to spend quality time with his students learning, playing, dinning, napping, and exploring. He appreciates different gifts that God gives to the children, and strives to draw these potential talents from within. Mr. Terrence, as a church children Sunday school teacher, also highly values a child’s spiritual formation and character building. He feels very blessed to work for MICA, whose high commitment to the Christian value lays the foundation on which the children will grow into compassionate, intellectual, gentle and humble persons.

Miss Angel (Head Teacher and Assistant Director of Toddler Program)
Miss Angel discovered her interest in working with young children during her middle school years while volunteering at a preschool in Taiwan. After moving to San Diego, she continued working with young children as a babysitter while studying to get her early childhood certificate from San Diego Mesa College. Miss Angel’s teaching experience with 2.5-6 age group includes teaching Mandarin at a Chinese school as well as teaching Sunday school at a Christian church for many years.
Miss Angel has obtained her Montessori training certificate in 2017 specialized in infant and toddler and dedicated her leading work in MICA’s toddler program.
Miss Angel enjoys interacting with children for their energy, joy and desire to learn. She also loves to share the love of God with children and pray with them. She will always remember the smiling face of a young boy after she prayed with him. He had been crying because he and his friends had been fighting. Miss Angel looks forward to exploring and learning with your child about the beautiful world God created for us.
